Every one of those has different demands. A village shop needs a display cabinet that holds temperature through a hot Bank Holiday with the door opening every thirty seconds. A care home kitchen has to evidence food safety records. A pub cellar has to hold eleven to thirteen degrees through a Saturday night with the hatch open. We size, install and maintain for the job in front of us rather than fitting whatever is on the shelf.

Commercial refrigeration works harder than anything in a domestic kitchen. A cold room pack runs most of the day, every day, in a room that gets opened and walked through constantly. Left alone small problems compound: a slow refrigerant loss makes the compressor work longer, longer running raises your electricity bill, and the extra hours bring the failure forward.

When to call

Signs your equipment needs attention

Most breakdowns give warning first. Catching any of these early is almost always cheaper than an emergency call-out and a skip full of stock.
If you have noticed any of these, ring us before it fails properly. A refrigerant leak found on a service visit is a straightforward repair; the same leak found on a Friday night is a lost weekend of trading, a claim on your stock, and a food safety problem you have to evidence afterwards.

How we work

What happens when you call us out

No call centre, no ticket numbers, no engineer who has never seen your kit before.

You ring us

You speak to someone who knows the equipment, not a call handler reading a script. Tell us what it is doing and we will tell you whether it needs an engineer today or a planned visit.

We attend

One of our three engineers comes out with the van stocked for the common faults, so most jobs are finished on the first visit rather than waiting on parts.

You get it in writing

Full F-Gas records, what we found, what we did, and an honest view on whether the equipment has life left in it or is worth replacing.

We run three engineers out across Cumbria every day — Carlisle and the north, the west coast, Furness and the south, and the whole of the Lake District in between. You are rarely more than an hour from one of our vans.

Service contracts across Cumbria

North Cumbria and the Eden Valley

Carlisle, Penrith, Brampton, Wigton, Appleby-in-Westmorland and Kirkby Stephen are covered on a northern round. Most of the work up here is commercial refrigeration for the city's convenience stores, restaurants and care homes, along with cellar cooling for the pubs and hotels, and air conditioning for offices and salons.

The Lakes and the south

Kendal, Windermere, Ambleside, Keswick, Coniston, Kirkby Lonsdale, Sedbergh and Grange-over-Sands are tourist towns where kitchens and cellars work hardest in season. We fit and service VRF and multi-split systems for hotels, keep display cabinets running for delis and farm shops, and handle breakdowns and call-outs through the summer.

The west coast

Whitehaven, Workington, Cockermouth, Maryport, Egremont, Cleator Moor, Silloth and Seascale sit on the coastal run. Salt air is hard on condensers, so this is where planned servicing earns its keep, and where a lot of our cold room repair and installation work comes from.

Furness and the far west

Barrow-in-Furness, Ulverston, Dalton-in-Furness, Millom, Haverigg, Bootle and Broughton-in-Furness are on our doorstep — we are based at Steel Green in Haverigg. Same-day attendance is normal here, across everything from heat pump servicing to air handling unit maintenance. If you are unsure whether you are in range, ring us: we cover the whole of Cumbria.
